Directions: Sledding hill located at Booth Memorial Park, Startford. Route 110, there are signs for the park. From Milford, you'll take a left off 110 then it is on the right.

Comments: The sledding hill starts deep then has a bump and tapers. I do not advise going when there is ice underneath the snow. Some distance away at the bottom are trees that you can not reach on powder. When it's icy, you come close due to the incline of the sledding hill.

Directions: Sledding hill set in the back of Booth Park on Main St Putney.

Comments: Hill is steep and fast. Some parts are longer than 100ft. On the shorter runs if you have a good sled or the snow is packed hard and slick, you must bail out because of picnic tables. Still a great place for kids....big or little.

Directions: Sledding hill at the Middlesex Executive Campus - 245 Long Hill Road

Comments: Commercial office building in residential setting. Very few crowds on a snow day. Smaller hill and larger hill on site. More than ample parking on the property. Hills are located away from street/cars.

2010 Webmaster Update: I had received an email from an anonymous person stating:

"There is a posting that mentions "245 Long Hill Rd"....this is a response to remove that posting. Building is abandoned and NO TRESSPASSING IS ALLOWED...Nice hills, but it is not a public property. Sledders will be asked to leave."

Therefore, being the webmaster of this site, I recommend that you don't sled here!

County: New Haven City: Branford Property: Private Permission: Yes

Directions: The sled riding hill is located on Totoket Rd, which branches off rt. 146 as a detour through Pine Orchard.

Comments: The main sledding area is immediately apparent on a snowy day, as the only parking is along the side of the road. The first, smaller hill is immediately visible from the road. Over that hill at the end of a paved walkway is a much bigger, steeper hill that is very tall and has a very long area of flat ground at the end. To ride all the way to the edge of the woods is a feat. Those two hills are the main ones, but there are plenty of other slopes the be ridden in the area.

Directions: Sled riding hill on the south side of Cheshire, on Mixville Road, you can't miss it.

Comments: The hill starts out at about a 55 degree angle, but after about 30 feet it tapers to a 45. The only obstacles in the way are small children, but they can be avoided. It's the best hill around.

Sledmaster's additional note: This hill originally functioned as a 1 rope tow ski area, started by several Yale students, but this ceased in the mid-late 70's. Info. and photo source via NELSAP.org.
