Directions: Pay sledding at Warren Dunes State Park, 12032 Red Arrow Highway, Sawyer, MI.

Comments: Long known as a summer-time destination, this Lake Michigan location takes on a different atmosphere in the winter. Park staff say the main dune, the 240 foot-tall Tower Hill, is a popular place to sled, as is a more secluded area known as the 'blow out.' The park does not offer sled or tube rental, but the public can bring their own in. Cost to enter the park as of 2012 was $6 per car for Michigan residents and $8 for cars with out-of-state license plates. Park staff also recommend calling ahead (269) 426-4013) if coming from far away, as snowfall along the lake can vary from snowfall inland.

Sledding Hill Known As: " Cascades Sledding Hill " ( RENAME THIS HILL AS YOURS - DETAILS )

Directions: Sled riding hill located at Cascades Park near S. West Ave in Jackson. It is easy to find with signs leading to the park beginning on I-94.

Comments: It is a very popular sledding hill, and is probably one of the best in Southern Michigan. It has ample parking at the bottom of the sledding hill. The main hazard is the number of people who use it on a snowy day. The hill is mostly terraced, so sledders can choose the length of the ride. from about 30 feet to about 200. At the top of the sledding hill, the angle is pretty steep (perhaps 70 degrees?), and is used by the more daring sledders.

Directions: Sledding hill at Newaygo County Sports Park on M-37 in between the city of Newaygo and the city of White Cloud. This is at the The Newaygo County Conventions and Visitors Bureau: 4684 S. Evergreen M37.

Comments: It is called Sportsmans Hill, and is also a place to inquire about recreational activities in Newaygo County. This hill is unsupervised.

JANUARY 2014 UPDATE: This listing was updated with a picture (above) and better directions in Jan. 2014 to the correct sledding hill location, since many people were venturing to private property about 10 miles east at Sportsman Park Campground and Boat Slips on the Muskegon River. That location, which is a campground, sledding is forbidden per owner Kelly Dell. Therefore, don't venture over there. The correct designated sledding hill (as pictured) is, once again, located via a very short walk from the Newaygo County Conventions and Vistors Bureau at 4684 S. Evergreen M37, where you should park. As of this posting, there is not YouTube video. If someone would make a sledding video of that hill and send me the link, then that would be greatly appreciated!! Happy, safe sledding!!
