County: Cascade City: Great Falls Property: Public Permission: Yes
Designated Sledding Area: No Turf: Grass Texture: Smooth & Bumpy Crowds: Some
Slope: Unknown angle Length: Unknown Easily Accessible: Yes Nearby Parking: Yes
Hazards/Obstructions: None Video: None Photo: None Submitted By: Steve King, 12-25-2004
Directions: Verde Park -- 2nd Street and 19th Avenue South.

Comments: Verde hill sends sledders down a fairly steep slope and across two broad ripples before flattening out at the base. But because of the trusty Great Falls wind and Big Sky sunshine, the white stuff doesn't stick around for long. Verde's nice, but it faces south so the snow doesn't last.

Comments: Warden hill, though not as steep as Verde, is broad and its snowpack usually lasts several days after the town gets dumped on.

Directions: Blue Mountain. Take Blue Mountain Road and follow it past the parking lot. Look for the trail hikes around the bend another three-fourths of a mile. The main bowl offers steep runs and jumps, with a more gentle slope off to the right. You can also take a drive or hike up the road a little farther and hit the steeper slopes that dump back into the same gully as the main hill.

Comments: Blue Mountain offers a fun, moderate slope.

The trail is about 6 feet wide and has a gentle slope, but a whole lot of divots and jumps are included. Trek up the hill until the trail starts to curve. The snow bank on the edge of the road will stop the sled.

Directions: Drive out past fairgrounds and up towards St Pats Nob! There is parking at the entrance of Suicide Hill! There are other names for this sledding hill but I know it as this! You will have to walk about a 1/3 of a mile to the sledding hills! They gated the road in to keep people from driving vehicles into harms way! The entrance is about 5 miles past Fairgrounds. If anyone has more details (i.e. road names) on directions or alternate names for this hill, then please email this sites webmaster so they can be posted here.

Comments: There are several sledding lanes of varying degrees of difficulty and steepness! Enjoy!
