Directions: The Location Is Garrison Hill
Tower. Off Central Avenue between Dover downtown and the "miracle mile" mall area. Turn right on Abbey Sawyer Road at sign just before the entrance to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.
Comments: During The Summer, It's A Good Place To Go With Family And Friends To Enjoy The Awesome Views From The Top Of The Tower. The City Bulldozed The ENTIRE Back Of The Hill As To Allow Sledding And Snowboarding During The Winter. Last I Heard, They Were Putting In A Tow Rope Style Lift, But Have Not Been Up There This Year Yet. Parking Is At The Bottom Of The Hill, And The Top If Your Car Can Make It. Very Good Spot If You Want To Go Fast. They've Installed A Bowl And Hay Bales At The Bottom To Slow You Down. Go sledding at your own risk. Sledmaster's additional note: This hill originally functioned as a 1 rope tow ski area, but this ceased in the late 60's. Info. and photo source via NELSAP.org. |

Directions: Wagon Hill, on Rt. 4 across the
street from Emery Farm.
Comments: Mostly smooth sled riding, with a couple of rocks that provide a drop off. The back side of the hill provides easier sledding for younger children. Parking can be difficult on a nice weekend after a big snow.
