Directions: Sled riding hill at Frisbee Hill Park on Frisbee Hill Road. The hill is about 250' south of the parking area. Comments: The parking area is about 200' south of the park entrance. It is a public park with a playground, and in the winter, it has a designated sledding hill with a designated parking lot. This is a very nice place to take young children to to enjoy a moderate hill in a safe area. |

Directions: Designated sled riding hill at Powder Mills Park, off Woolston Road near North Lodge. Look for designated hill stating open. Click here for a map. Comments: There is another sledding hill very near this one called the "Back Bowl" by many who frequent it. It is often extremely hard pack because of snow boarders that use it. So it is very fast, probably close to 100-150 ft high; ~50-55 degree slope; ~150 - 200 ft. long. This is a non-designated sled riding hill by the county, therefore, the directions won't be posted on this site due to legal reasons and multiple hazards. Therefore, it will remain a locals secret. |

Directions: Sled riding hill called Rice Hill on the north side of Taughannock Falls State Park. You can get to Rice Hill either by way of Route 89 or Route 96. Just follow signs for the State Park. From Route 89, just take it north from Ithaca past Taughannock Falls State Park. Turn left past the park on Taughannock Park Rd. as if you were going up to the overlook. As you go up the hill, the turn for Rice Road will be on your right. Go up Rice Road - the entry to Rice Hill will be on your right.

The sledding hills are short but steep (in the front), while the ones in the back are a bit longer, but not as steep. |
