Directions: Part of a city park (name unknown) behind the City Hall (#1 Public Square). Comments: There is parking right at the top of the hill behind the City Hall, but it is limited to about 6 cars. The larger parking area is in the City Halls' parking lot in the front of the building. The only hazards that this hill potentially has is a chain link fence pretty far down at the bottom. That's only if you hit it, which I have done. You have to get a lot of speed to do so though. People don't hit it often, plus you have plenty of time to slow yourself down to avoid this fence. It is a great hill and I've been going there for years. |

Directions: Sledding hill at "The Double Hump". When coming south/west on US 52OH get off on the RT93/ Ironton Downtown exit. Turn right going into town, go 5 city blocks and turn right onto 6th street, go to the end of the street and follow 6th to 5th street. Turn right on 5th
street and follow until it goes under the railroad underpass. The double
hump is immediately on the right. Comments: HAZARDS - there are two small hazards, there is a small water gathering at the bottom of the hills but far enough away, not to get stuck in. The second is a fire hydrant which is on the far right side by the tree lawn and is easily missable. PARKING - parking is available on the city streets around the hills. The "Double Hump" is a flood wall but a high and adrenline pumping fun for all ages. |

Directions: Sled riding hill in the Toledo area at Fort Miamis Park, Maumee. Comments: Overlooking the Maumee River on the site of the former British Fort Miamis is a network of ditches and embankments that make for surprisingly fun sledding. Surprising because none of the hills are that big, giving the site a reputation as best suited to youngsters. The series of hills also give the unique experience of going down one slope, up another, and then down another hill. There's even one run that seems carved into a hill, sort of like a bobsled track that shoots you down a path. Steel Rail sleds are not permitted. |

Directions: Sled riding hill in the Toledo area at Maumee Bay State Park - Oregon. Comments: 70 ft. tall hill claimed to be the highest elevation in Lucas County called the "Big Hill". Great view! Relatively steep with the promise of a long, sustained trip. The other side of the hill is unmowed, steeper but full of prickly weeds, though that doesn't stop the more adventuresome from giving it a try. |

Directions: Sled riding hill in the Toledo area at Pearson Metro Park - Oregon. Comments: This is a lighted hill for night sledding until around 9pm. There are benches at the top of this medium sized hill to rest on. The hill was sculpted for sledding with dirt from a dredged pond. It's got a nice slope, and it's also kind of molded at the foot of the hill so you can't scoot across the road. |

Directions: Sled riding hill in the Toledo area at Nona France Recreational Area-Whitehouse. Accessible from the park's Providence Street entrance. Comments: This is a large man-made sledding hill built about eight years ago as a project for a program training heavy-equipment operators, it rises about 60-feet above the ground. The idea was for people to enjoy a gentle ride down the south side. Many sledders, though, got a different idea and opted for the more precipitous drop down the north side. It's very fast, and that's why many people don't go down it anymore. FAST AND BUMPY! |

Directions: This sledding hill has been a long known tradition in Medina & Cuyahoga Counties. It is located on State rd in
Hinckley Township; Between Ledge rd and Rt 303, in the Cleveland MetroParks system, just up the road from Whips Ledges, which is another free park rock
climbing & trail attraction in Hinckley also.
Comments: As for hazards, well its a hill cut from the woods, so trees are on the sides. I guess in ones opinion there probably aren't any hazards. And the asphalt was meant for parking - I'm not solid on the location, but I'm pretty sure there is parking at the bottom. See here an adobe pdf file of the Cleveland metro parks, "Hinckley Reservation", which is where the Coasting hill is. See the attched hinckley.pdf and see item 11) Coasting. |

Directions: Remsen Road, just east of the intersection between Remsen and State Road in Granger Township.
Directions: I-271 to State Road, South on State to Remsen, East on
Remsen. The sledding hill is located northeast of the parking lot. It isn't too hard to find. Comments: Depending on where you go down, the hill offers everything from a good beginner experience to something truly hair-raising and fast. You can easily reach 30 mph on the right sled. There is also a picnic area nearby with a grill so you can make smores, hot chocolate, and coffee. HAZARDS: There is a creek at the bottom of the hill. It's pretty far away but I've reached it with an inflatable sno-tube when the snow was packed properly. HOURS: 8 a.m. to Dusk. |

Directions: Sled riding hill at Cranberry Creek Park on Brimfield Township Park property. Comments: Gravel parking off Lynn Road. Benches at top of hill. Rope to pull yourself back up the hill. Update: Brimfield made an attempt at a sled hill that failed miserably. No sled hill at all ... slow gradual slope, not good enough to make it to the bottom. Good parking, because it will never get crowded due to the lack of fun. Much improvement needed before we get excited about this location. |

Directions: Sled riding hill in Goodyear Heights Metro Park on Newton Avenue (Most popular hill in town). Just off of route 91. Comments: There is a big steep sledding hill here. So big that you can have two, three, four hundred people on the hill at a time. Sometimes they burn barrels for the people who are sledding there to warm themselves up. More details about this park can be found here. This is a great hill to snowboard on if you dont wanna pay for a lift ticket at brandywine / boston mills, natural jumps (bumps), a long ride, but a tough hike. There's a rope on far left of walkway to help. There's a bench at the top too, for those tired legs. Parking and heated restrooms at the bottom, usually a fire pit as well. Also is close to some resturaunts. The sledding hill starts out at a melow grade, with a few bumps in the center. Becomes steeper about half way down, large bumps in the middle, and plenty of room to stop. Closes at 11pm daily. Also, this sledding hill is lighted and lighting doesn't start on a specific date, but usually if there's alot of snow the lights will be on. |

Directions: Sled riding hill at Cascade Valley Metro Park on Cuyahoga Street in Akron at the Oxbow Area. Comments: Dan states "It's very big. =) The hill is shaped in a lazy C, one end is not so steep for the kiddies and the other end is steeper for the snowboarders. It's about 150 feet of hill with about 200 feet of flat run below it before the tree line. There also is a earth toboggan chute that runs very fast. The Park Rangers keep the fire burning in the nearby outdoor burn furnance, easy to stay warm. Parking at the top of the hill or at the bottom. This is my family's favorite hill." More details about the area can be found here. |
