Directions: You go one mile North of the stoplight, before you reach the Baptist church, turn right. Drive 1/4th of a mile and you will be at the top of the sledding hill. Comments: You can park in the empty field on the left side of the road. You'll see Wyatt, Dayton, Dillon, & Derek flying down the hill at top speed!! See you next time it snows in Oklahoma! Directions: The sledding hill is surrounded by the following streets: Westside of the hill is N. Grand. The north side border is NW 38th street. The south east corner is bordered by North Land Place, which turns into NW 37th street. (These streets are made this way to accommodate a school that is there). The south border is NW 36th street. In the middle of these streets is an opened area. It forums a square, but the top right corner extends out a little further. Comments: This is a group of soccer fields with massive hills. The slopes team with both young and old, sledding and screaming with laughter. The scene plays out whenever Oklahoma City gets the slightest dusting of snow or ice. This submittal is via News9.com. Directions: Sledding hill south of I-240 on Western Ave, east side, just north of SW 81st St. If you google map 8100 S. Western Ave, Oklahoma City, Ok you can see it. This soccer field is next to Lightning Creek Park. Comments: Watch for the cable running down the driveway and by the parking lot. Parking lot is at the bottom of the hill, sometimes only 4x4 can use it. More parking to the south of the park. Directions: Sledding hill using google maps - 3300 NW 32nd Oklahoma City, Ok - I-44 exit on North 36th, go east to Independance and follow around to parking lot at NW 33rd and Independance (sign says Will Rogers), or street parking available on NW 32nd street between the two fields with hills.
Comments: Watch for the drainage canals, they aren't in the way but if you have a long sled ride you can end up sliding into one. The small one is only a foot deep. The north side has a larger ditch, you just have to be careful and you can have a great day. Parking is available near the top of the hill. This is a very popular, fun spot for sledders on a snow day in Tulsa! Video and photos above compliments of Tulsa's Newson6.com. Directions: This sledding hill is located behind Woodland Hills Mall in the drainage basin there next to the engineering company residing in the reflective glass building that used to be a public library. The closest mall marker is the food court entrance. Comments: Plenty of parking at the outer reaches of the mall lot. (On weekdays please don't park in the engineering companies lot) We've gone sledding at this location on three different occasions and had a wonderful time. The only minimal hazard is the concrete drainage area to the right of the main sledding hill. If you sled to the left on the hill? No problems. The sledding hill may be only a couple of hundred feet - but on a good day and the right conditions? Rides of twice or three times that length in the flat basin area are certainly possible. There's also an extra steep, "starting hill" next to the engineering building with an extra 10 or so degree of angle. Climb that for super speed and extended! rides....if you can hang on going over the single bump that can provide some sledding "hang time!"
