Comments: The Winter Sports Area consists of: Two 300 ft. long toboggan slides (padded toboggan rentals available) and four sled and saucer hills, one of which is specifically designated for children 6 years of age and younger. New stairs have been built into the sides of the saucer/sled hills so it is easier to get back to the top! All areas are lighted for night use with the exception of the ski trails. The Stevens Point Parks and Recreation Department provides staff during public hours. Our spacious, newly renovated, and ADA accessible warming house facility provides a place to escape and thaw out from Winter's chilly, blustery winds. Comments: Huge parking lot. The hill behind Northside school is much longer than that of Kings Hill, but is virtually unused. It is NOT lit up, although the parking lot lights would have been more than enough for me when I was a kid. -- I suppose it depends upon the age of the sledders.

Comments: The sledding hill is alongside a dog park, but the city has placed a snow fence and designated sledding area at top of hill to prevent injury. Depending on snow fall, there can be some "snow lifts" at the bottom of the hill which can cause the sledder to fall off.

Directions: Sledding hill at Village Park off of Juneau Blvd.

Comments: Park at the village swimming pool parking area and walk to the hill. This hill is pretty steep so you will be huffing and puffing soon. Coming down is quite scary and thrilling if you overcome your initial fear. 2 years ago i took my 2 yrs old and some of his older friends to this hill and one of the older kids simply refused to go down after climbing up. Do not underestimate the incline of this hill and watch out for the slippery grass and shrubs that make climbing up an effort. Happy Sledding and play safe!

NOV. 6, 2011 UPDATE: "I STRONGLY suggest that you take a close look at the hill you are going to go down. There are FOUR sides to this huge sledding hill... MILD, WILD, OMG and Are you CrAzY? This CAN be a very fun hill... IF precaution is taken. LOOK TO SEE WHAT IS DOWN THE HILL... FIRST Fresh snow can cover some of the MAJOR dangers here.... Some people start balls of snow at the top and roll them down the hill.... which can then turn into GIANT 2-3 foot tall snowballs of ice laying in the sledding path. Also, snow boarders have been known to make snow ramps at the bottom of the hills... HITTING EITHER OF THESE AT SPEED CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TAKEN AWAY BY AMBULANCE WITH MAJOR INJURIES. I BARELY missed one of the big snow balls my self two years ago... only bumping my elbow.. could have been much worse. I suggest watching where others are sledding and not sledding for several minutes before going down these hills. A LEVEL ! ONE trauma hospital is only about 5 minutes away. All in all.. an excellent sledding hill.. if a bit of caution is used. There are NO trees to get in the way."

2009 UPDATE: This is an awesome hill for kids of ALL ages. First went when I was four, now I'm forty and was there last year with my four year old. Nice and wide with plenty of room. 2011 UPDATE: This is a county park and requires a sticker (2011: $27 county resident, $38 non and provides entry to all Waukesha county parks). They took out the snow fence that divided the hill in half which is nice as it removes an obstacle. There is a jump on the edge of the hill but it's close to the edge of the park and has brush. The rest of the hill is clean. They appear to groom the hill. There are restrooms in the park but it's unknown if they are open in winter and probably not heated; no restrooms near the hill. The Waukesha county park website has more info on the park here.

Comments: There are 2 seperate hills to choose from within walking distance of each other - side by side - playground equipment as well - port-a-pottys - My girls love it. On the small hill which is the better of the two hills, you go down the hill and at the bottom there is a small hill that with enough force you can go over which takes you right onto Calhoun Rd., especially when the hill is more icy.
